Former Minister of Labour and Employment in late ex-President Muhammad Buhari’s government, Dr. Chris Ngige is said to have been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) and now detained in their custody.
The former Anambra State governor, was arrested in Abuja, and is currently with the EFCC according to a statement signed by his former media aide, Fred Chukwulobe.
Chukwulobe dispelled the rumours circulating online that Ngige had been kidnapped.
He noted: “Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC. More details later”.
Ngige was also in the news recently after his convoy was attacked by armed men in Anambra State. He was not in the vehicle at the time of the attack.
